This September will be twenty-five years since our world changed forever. Yet, out of that profound darkness, a legacy of pure, enduring courage was born.
On August 22, my family and I are participating in a 5K run/walk to honor the brave veterans who sacrificed so much for us but have since fallen on hard times and are facing homelessness within the Central PA area. I am reaching out because I need your help to change lives right here in the Harrisburg, PA community.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation was built on a single, powerful command: “While we have time, LET US DO GOOD.” Every single day, they live out this vow by providing mortgage-free homes and critical support to our nation’s catastrophically injured first responders, military heroes, and gold star families. Right now, they are actively building a 64-unit apartment complex and 20 "comfort homes" specifically for homeless veterans in Harrisburg, close to the DMV off S. Front St.
This 5K is so much more than a run/walk to me. Every step is a living promise that we will never forget the heroes who ran toward danger to protect us.
